Michelle's Story

Sarnia is home.

I grew up in Sarnia. I went to school here, built my career here, and raised my family here. This city isn't just where I live — it's who I am.

Over the years, I've watched Sarnia face real challenges: businesses closing, young people leaving, and a sense that our city's best days might be behind us. I refuse to accept that.

I'm running for City Council because I believe Sarnia has everything it takes to thrive — the people, the location, the work ethic. What we need is leadership that shows up, listens, and delivers.

Values

What drives me

Community First

Every decision I make as a councillor will start with one question: is this good for the people of Sarnia? Not special interests, not political games — just our community.

Honest Leadership

I believe in straight talk. I'll tell you what I think, explain my reasoning, and be accountable for my decisions. Sarnia deserves a councillor who respects your intelligence.

Real Results

I'm not running to attend meetings and collect a paycheque. I'm running to get things done — to bring new jobs, improve our neighbourhoods, and make Sarnia a city our kids want to stay in.

Experience

Background & Experience

Community Involvement

Community has always been at the heart of who I am and what I do. As a lifelong member of the Sarnia-Lambton community, I believe in giving back, supporting local organizations, and helping make our community a better place for everyone. I am the founder and organizer of Tampon Tuesday Sarnia-Lambton, an initiative dedicated to addressing period poverty and ensuring that everyone has access to essential menstrual products. I also serve on the Bluewater Health Foundation Board, supporting the health and well-being of our community. Previously, I served as a school board trustee and vice-chair for four years, advocating for students, families, and quality education. Through my volunteer work, fundraising, advocacy, and involvement with local organizations, I am passionate about bringing people together, supporting those who need a hand, and making a meaningful difference in Sarnia-Lambton.

Business Experience

My work experience is rooted in tourism, hospitality, customer service, leadership, and community engagement. Throughout my tourism career, I developed strong skills in promoting destinations and local attractions, organizing events, building community partnerships, and creating positive experiences for visitors and residents. This experience gave me a strong understanding of the importance of tourism to Sarnia-Lambton and the value of promoting our community.

Advocacy

Advocacy has been a central part of my personal and professional life.
